About The Position

The Receiver is responsible for receiving incoming shipments, maintaining accurate inventory levels of raw materials and supplies, and supporting the ordering and tracking of materials necessary for plant operations. This role works closely with production, maintenance, accounting, suppliers, and logistics partners to ensure materials are received, documented, and available when needed to support uninterrupted plant operations. Safety, organization, and accuracy are critical to success in this position.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Experience in receiving, warehouse operations, or inventory management preferred.
  • Experience working in a manufacturing or industrial environment is a plus.
  • Basic computer skills required; must be familiar with Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Experience with forklift and pallet jack.
  • Experience with ERP systems such as Oracle.

Responsibilities

  • Receive incoming shipments and verify materials against purchase orders and bills of lading. Inspect materials for damage, accuracy, and quality upon receipt.
  • Safely unload deliveries and transport materials using forklifts or other mobile equipment and properly store materials in designated warehouse areas.
  • Maintain accurate inventory levels of raw materials, paper, tape, and other production supplies required for plant operations.
  • Perform routine inventory counts and reconciliation, including weekly and monthly inventory activities, and update inventory records accordingly.
  • Track material usage and inventory levels to ensure uninterrupted supply to production and communicate reorder needs when inventory reaches established levels.
  • Create and manage purchase orders and assist with ordering raw materials and supplies as needed to support plant operations.
  • Enter receiving, inventory, and purchasing information into company systems and maintain organized documentation, including bills of lading, purchase orders, and receiving records.
  • Maintain inventory logs, spreadsheets, and system reports used to track materials, receipts, and consumption.
  • Communicate with suppliers, carriers, accounting, and internal plant personnel regarding shipments, deliveries, and inventory discrepancies.
  • Support warehouse organization and maintain documentation required for inventory reconciliation and internal or external audits.
  • Follow all plant safety rules and procedures, operate equipment safely, and maintain housekeeping in the warehouse and receiving areas.
  • Use required PPE and follow safe loading and unloading procedures.
