About The Position

Associates to perform all safety checks at the start of their shift on all cranes and tools and document this as necessary. Continue to perform safety checks throughout the shift. This role involves performing receiving verification in the purchasing section of the company computer system, physically counting materials to verify vendor packing lists, and comparing identifying information and counts, weights, or measure items of incoming and outgoing shipments to verify information against bill of lading, invoices, orders or other records. The Receiver will communicate verbally on receipt of critical material, use forklifts, cranes, and hoists to move heavy materials, and perform inspections using Quality Assurance procedures and work instructions. They will also perform inspection verification in the computer system, mark and distribute accepted material using lift truck or hoist shipments for shipping and receiving platform to storage area, and segregate and label non-conforming product, following up until a final disposition is made. As necessary, the Receiver will unload material from freight carriers, inspect for visible damage, check for proper paperwork including material certifications, and call vendors to expedite missing paperwork. They will process returns for any defective or incorrect items, maintain organization of raw materials, optimizing access and minimizing floor space, prepare trucks and tanks for shipment, and perform cycle counts. Support to the stockroom, including knowledge of stockroom policies and procedures, is also required. Requirements

  • Basic computer knowledge and online applications
  • Ability to operate forklift (must obtain certification)
  • Ability to operate hoist, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment.
  • Be able to accurately use tape measures, levels, calipers, micrometers, UT thickness gages and other inspection instruments.
  • Ability to work will in a fast paced environment to meet team expectations.
  • Understanding and support of Company policies and procedures.
  • Ability to understand and abide by all safety rules and regulations to perform the job.
  • Must have a basic understanding of computers.
  • Must have reading, writing and simple math skills.
  • Must be able to read blue prints.
  • Must have either a High School diploma, GED, or at least 1 year working experience in an industrial based environment.
