About The Position

Unloads/unpacks/receives incoming supplies, restocks inventory, and distributes supplies within the The Receiver unloads/unpacks/receives incoming supplies and processes outgoing package deliveries. Works with the appropriate electronic systems (Meditech) and devices to receive and generate reports and related documents. Matches incoming deliveries to PO numbers, receives items using the appropriate electronic systems and devices, and generates receiving reports from verified packing lists. Notifies Supply Chain Purchasing of any discrepancies or damaged goods; files damage claims according to procedure. Delivers overnite and rush orders immediately. Works with department staff to restock shelves, rotate stock, and assist with mailroom and distribution duties as needed. Works together with the department and healthcare team to complete assignments. Requirements

  • High school diploma/GED or equivalent, with working knowledge.
  • 2 or more years of experience in warehouse, shipping, and receiving operations
  • Reading, writing, and mathematical skills.
  • A broad understanding of medical supplies and materials items and handling requirements as normally acquired through two or more years of related work with shipping & receiving and medical supplies.
  • Must have effective organizational skills to accurately maintain records and coordinate various inventory control functions, the mathematical skills to calculate quantities and pricing, and the ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • A working knowledge of the Materials Management Information System (Meditech Expanse) is preferred.
  • Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Suite. Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Willingness to learn new skills. Customer service-oriented with a problem-solving attitude.

Responsibilities

  • Receives incoming orders and verifies orders are accurate and intact, including special orders. Documents and communicates damage, shipping errors, and/or other discrepancies. Inputs supplies received and prints receiving ticket(s).
  • Audits incoming orders for accuracy, proper storage, temperature, and/or damage; marks items for distribution; and prepares various receiving and shipping documents.
  • Distributes orders to appropriate departments on a timely basis ensuring chain of custody is maintained at all times.
  • Works independently under regular supervision. Follows defined procedures. Makes decisions and solves problems to meet internal customer supply needs and resolve vendor problems.
  • Performs all functions according to established policies, procedures, regulatory and accreditation requirements, as well as applicable professional standards. Provides all customers of Heywood Healthcare with an excellent service experience by consistently demonstrating our core and leadership behaviors each day.
  • Reports discrepancies to the Purchasing Department and assists in problem resolution.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned or required.
  • Participates in yearly physical inventory.
  • Files receiving documents and maintains accurate records.

  • Accurately compiles daily, weekly, and monthly data and statistics as requested.
  • Provides administrative support as needed for the perioperative leadership.
