About The Position

As a Receiver / Inventory Control Clerk (ICC), you will oversee all Direct Store Delivery (DSD) operations, ensuring merchandise is accurately received, accounted for, and stocked. Your daily tasks will include walking the store to scan DSD items, identifying out-of-stock or overstock conditions, and collaborating with order writers, night crew, merchandisers, and the File Maintenance Clerk. You will also communicate regularly with the Store Director to maintain inventory accuracy and support promotional execution. The role involves monitoring donations, managing grocery and non-perishable inventories, and ensuring the backroom environment is secure, clean, and organized. This position is ideal for individuals who are detail-oriented, tech-savvy, and thrive in a fast-paced retail setting, offering a significant contribution to store operations.

Requirements

  • Experience with receiving, tracking, and reconciling inventory, especially in a retail or grocery environment
  • Basic computer skills including email, Excel, and familiarity with store portals or inventory systems
  • Ability to monitor damaged, expired, or salvageable merchandise and process returns for credit accurately
  • Strong ability to maintain cleanliness, security, and order in the backroom and receiving areas
  • Capable of making decisions independently and resolving issues related to inventory and deliveries
  • Effective interaction with vendors, delivery drivers, store management, and fellow associates
  • Ability to lift/carry 5–50 lbs., push/pull 10–50 lbs. and stand or walk for extended periods
  • Commitment to upholding a positive customer experience through accurate inventory and store readiness
