The primary role of the Personal Trainer position is to provide one-on-one and small group fitness instruction to members of the Purdue community. Personal trainers utilize clients' health history, fitness assessment results, and goals to develop a specialized and comprehensive fitness program for each individual. Along with traditional training, personal trainers have the opportunity to run educational fitness programming such as Learn to Lift, Women on Weights, and have opportunity to aid in the instruction of our in house NASM Personal Trainer course. Typical hiring periods include Fall, Spring, & Summer semesters. The goal of this position is to give students valuable real-world experience in a fitness environment. This position should work 4-12 hours per week during the current semester. Those hours may be worked in any combination, at the discretion of the direct supervisor. The personal trainer position must be reliable, organized, responsible, and flexible. They must also be ambitious, detail-oriented, creative, and driven.
