About The Position

Under the direction of the Commissary Manager, the Commissary Supervisor is responsible for the coordination of Commissary at the jail so that each location receives the correct product. This role involves supervising the receiving, tagging, pricing, and storing of all incoming merchandise, assigning daily tasks to Gift Commissary staff, and ensuring that tasks are performed correctly and in a timely manner while maintaining high standards of customer service. The supervisor coordinates the movement of incoming merchandise to retail office, storage areas, and/or display floors, cashiers when vital to expedite the processing of guests' purchases, and orchestrates special projects such as holidays, events, and book signings when necessary. The role also includes following through with information to team members on new products or procedures, working with the General Manager and Commissary Manager to take inventory, and ensuring complete productivity on the floor. A full understanding of the point-of-sale system is required, along with assisting all guests in any possible way, training new hires on the POS system, overall safety, and job responsibilities, and following, implementing, and following up on all emergency procedures.

Requirements

  • Two years’ experience in a like employment environment or equivalent.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
