Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; vocational training in carpentry, metalworking, or a related field is a plus
  • Previous experience in door manufacturing, construction, or a similar trade preferred
  • Experience in door fabrication, woodworking, metalworking, or a related field preferred
  • Familiarity with fire-rated door manufacturing standards (e.g., NFPA 80) is a plus
  • Ability to read and understand technical drawings, measurements, and specifications
  • Skilled in using power tools and fabrication equipment with strong attention to detail and quality control
  • Ability to lift heavy materials and stand for extended periods
  • Team-oriented approach with strong communication skills and a willingness to learn and adapt to new fabrication techniques

Responsibilities

  • Measure, cut, and assemble fireproof doors according to specifications and safety regulations
  • Operate machinery (saws, drills, presses, welding equipment) for door fabrication.
  • Apply fire-resistant materials and ensure compliance with fire safety ratings and certifications
  • Read and interpret blueprints, work orders, and technical drawings
  • Inspect finished products to ensure quality and compliance with industry and company standards
  • Perform repairs and modifications on fire-rated doors as necessary
  • Maintain a clean, safe workspace, adhering to company and OSHA safety protocols
  • Collaborate with team members to meet production deadlines and assist with warehouse duties as assigned
  • Assist with inventory management and report material shortages
  • Participate in training programs to stay updated on industry standards and fabrication techniques
