Job Summary: The Rebar Fabricator plays a crucial role in the preparation and assembly of rebar used in reinforcing concrete structures. This position involves cutting, bending, and shaping rebar to specified dimensions and ensuring the timely and accurate preparation of materials for various construction projects. The ideal candidate should be detail-oriented, capable of working with machinery and tools, and committed to maintaining high safety standards in a busy work environment. Key Responsibilities: Read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and work orders to determine fabrication requirements. Operate and maintain equipment such as table benders, shear lines, automatic benders, and overhead cranes for efficient rebar processing. Cut, bend, and shape rebar to required specifications using manual and automatic tools. Assemble rebar cages and reinforcement structures according to project needs. Inspect rebar for defects and ensure that fabricated materials meet quality standards. Maintain an inventory of materials and communicate with supervisors to order supplies as needed. Ensure proper storage and organization of rebar and materials in the fabrication area. Perform regular maintenance checks on tools and equipment to ensure they are in safe working condition. Adhere to all safety procedures and guidelines to prevent accidents and injuries. Work collaboratively with team members to meet project deadlines and production goals. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area to comply with housekeeping standards. Qualifications Qualifications: High school diploma or GED; vocational training or certification in construction or metal fabrication is a plus. Experience in rebar fabrication, construction, or related work is preferred. Familiarity with operating fabrication machinery and tools, including table benders, shear lines, automatic benders, and overhead cranes. Good basic math skills for measuring and cutting materials accurately. Ability to read and interpret blueprints and work orders. Skills and Abilities: Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to operate machinery and tools safely. Attention to detail and accuracy in measuring and cutting rebar. Good manual dexterity and physical stamina for standing, walking, and lifting. Ability to work as part of a team and follow instructions from supervisors. Strong commitment to safety practices and adherence to company policies. Physical Requirements: Ability to lift and carry heavy objects (up to 50-75 lbs). Capable of standing, bending, stooping, and reaching for extended periods. Comfortable working in a physically demanding environment that may include exposure to loud noises, dust, and varying weather conditions. Ability to climb and descend ladders and work at heights when necessary. Work Environment: Primarily works in fabrication facilities or construction sites. Exposure to potential hazards such as moving machinery, loud noises, and dust, requiring the use of appropriate PPE. Work may involve varied shifts, including early mornings or evenings, based on project demands. Additional Requirements: Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to job sites or fabrication facilities. Ability to work flexible hours, including overtime, when required.
