Provide initial customer contact in person or by phone for the purpose of quoting, negotiating, and writing orders.

Requirements

GED or high school diploma required.
Previous rebar shop, field, estimating, detailing, or office experience required.
Computer skills and ability to learn programs related to reinforcing steel required.
Should be experienced in the construction market and blueprint reading with strong mathematic skills.

Responsibilities

Provide technical estimates of reinforcing steel for construction projects and prepare bids for customers.
Follow up on bid lists and bid confirmations.
Call on customers to follow up key bids and to solidify relations.
Analyze the construction markets through trade publications and recommend projects to estimate based on customer needs and availability of resources.
Coordinate bidding with other branches.
Work with Branch Manager on pricing strategies.
Preparation of job for chief detailer and/or detailer(s).
