About The Position

Rebar Equipment Operator Position Summary The Rebar Equipment Operator is responsible for operating specialized machinery used in the cutting, bending, tagging, and handling of reinforcing steel (rebar) according to project specifications. This role supports fabrication and production operations, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and safety throughout all rebar processing activities. Key Responsibilities Equipment Operation Operate rebar fabrication equipment such as shear lines, benders, rollers, automatic taggers, and cranes/hoists. Set up, adjust, and calibrate machinery to meet production requirements. Monitor machine performance and make minor adjustments to maintain accuracy and efficiency. Production & Fabrication Interpret rebar placement drawings, cut lists, and production schedules. Measure, cut, bend, and shape rebar to precise specifications. Tag, bundle, load, and stage materials for delivery or installation. Quality Control Verify measurements, shapes, and identification tags for accuracy. Inspect completed products for conformity to standards and project requirements. Report equipment malfunctions, quality issues, or material shortages. Safety & Maintenance Follow all safety protocols, PPE requirements, and operational guidelines. Keep the work area clean and free of hazards. Perform basic preventive maintenance on equipment and report any mechanical issues. Qualifications Experience operating industrial or mechanical equipment (manufacturing, fabrication, or construction preferred). Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and measurements Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail. Valued Experience Prior experience in rebar fabrication or steel production. Forklift, overhead crane, or material-handling certifications. Basic knowledge of computer-operated (CNC) machinery. Physical Requirements Ability to lift 50lbs. as needed. Prolonged standing, bending, and handling heavy materials. Comfortable working in a fast-paced fabrication or industrial environment.
