About The Position

Provides Indian landowners and the Tribe the necessary data, assistance, and support in the management and development of their lands; performs research of realty records, field inspections, client assistance, and prepares documents for restricted and trust properties.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree from 2-year college or technical school; or two years (60 credit hours) coursework from 4-year college or university; or three years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • An individual should have knowledge of Database software; Internet software; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license with a driving history verified through a motor vehicle report that meets requirements for Cherokee Nation underwriting rating. Employee is required to assist with site inspections, pick up and deliver Trust documents to EORO for signature/approval. Must pass a Bureau of Indian Affairs (BIA) Federal background check.
  • Ability to interpret legal descriptions, aerial photos, surveys, topographic maps, legal records, and Court House records.
  • Employee must not and will not be under sanction by the United States Department of Health and Human Services Office of the Inspector General (OIG) or by the General Services Administration (GSA) or listed on the OIG’s Cumulative Sanction Report, or the GSA’s List of Excluded Providers, or listed on the OIG’s List of Excluded Individuals/Entities (LEIE).
  • Knowledge of Federal, State and Real Estate Laws unique to Five Civilized Tribes.
  • Ability to do a Title Status Report, interpret legal documents and determine interest in property.
  • While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; sit; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to taste or smell. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Nice To Haves

  • Prefer previous experience working in County Assessor, Abstract, GIS field, Appraiser or Law office.
