SENA's Real Time (RT) Desk is responsible for managing and optimizing short-tenor (Day-Ahead and Real-Time) power and gas positions across markets in the United States and Canada. The Real Time Scheduling Analyst plays a crucial role in supporting real-time power traders by engaging in hourly scheduling, data analytics, hourly reconciliations, trade entries, post-analysis, data requests, and customer reporting. This position operates within a high-pressure, fast-paced environment, where the primary goal is to minimize operational risk while maximizing stakeholder value in the real-time North America electric power markets. The analyst will work closely with a real-time power trader during a continuous 12-hour shift, which may include nights, weekends, and holidays. Responsibilities include procuring hourly transmission reservations, creating electronic tags, uploading power market bids, and ensuring proper implementation of tags and transmission. The role also involves analyzing complex data to assist traders and customers in making informed decisions, providing real-time support to traders, and maintaining strong relationships with various stakeholders, including trading business users, IT service partners, and management. Additionally, the analyst will collaborate with the real-time trading team and IT operational teams to resolve operational issues effectively, develop and improve data handling and reporting processes, and utilize ETRM systems to simplify energy and ancillary reporting. The position requires expertise in managing large datasets, coding assistance for data analysis, and collaboration with functional groups within Shell Energy to facilitate daily P/L reporting and exposure reporting.
