About The Position
We are a major full service law firm with more than 115 attorneys seeking to expand our talented staff by adding a Real Estate Paralegal with 2–5 years of experience to support our Real Estate practice in a regional branch office (Belfast, New York). This position offers the opportunity to work directly with attorneys and clients on a broad range of commercial and residential real estate matters in a collaborative environment. The ideal candidate is a motivated, detail oriented self starter with strong organizational skills and a solid foundation in real estate transactions. The candidate must be a team player who thrives in a professional and supportive law firm environment and is comfortable managing multiple matters simultaneously.
Requirements
- 2–5 years of experience as a Real Estate Paralegal in a law firm or similar setting
- Experience supporting commercial and/or residential real estate transactions
- Strong attention to detail and excellent time management skills
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple transactions in a deadline driven environment
- Professional communication skills and a collaborative, can do attitude
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
Responsibilities
- Assist attorneys in all aspects of real estate transactions, including preparation of contracts of sale, closing documents, and related transaction materials
- Review and analyze title reports and surveys and assist with title clearance issues
- Prepare closing checklists and coordinate the collection, execution, and delivery of documents
- Obtain payoff letters and assist with lien resolutions and post closing matters
- Prepare and file ACRIS transfer tax documents and related closing filings
- Coordinate with clients, lenders, title companies, and opposing counsel to ensure timely and accurate closings
- Maintain and organize transaction files and track critical deadlines
