Requirements

  • An associate’s degree in business, or a field related to the work and two years of experience in the real estate industry. Applicable work experience and/or military experience may be substituted for education at the rate of two years of experience for one year of education. Applicable additional education levels or relevant but not required certifications may be eligible to satisfy minimum experience requirements. Financial institution experience preferred.
  • Incumbent Bonding REQUIRED by TFCU’s chosen authority.
  • NMLS, SAFE Act registration required.
  • Demonstrates comprehensive knowledge of real estate practices and applicable real estate laws.
  • Understands Home Mortgage Disclosure Act (HMDA) requirements related to data collection and reporting.
  • Possesses thorough knowledge of the mortgage loan application process from initiation to closing.
  • Maintains familiarity with TFCU products, policies, and procedures to support accurate and compliant loan processing.
  • Applies knowledge of loan policies, rate structures, and federal lending regulations to ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Understands FNMA and VA underwriting guidelines, including proficiency in using automated underwriting systems.
  • Exhibits strong organizational skills and attention to detail in managing loan documentation and processes.
  • Operates and maintains standard office equipment efficiently to support daily administrative functions.
  • Communicates loan decisions to members clearly and professionally, ensuring understanding and transparency.

  • Financial institution experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a personal pipeline of assigned loans, ensuring each loan progresses efficiently and aligns with the organization’s time-to-close expectations.
  • Oversee key aspects of the loan process, including the timely ordering of third-party products and verifying that all documentation complies with both secondary market standards and TFCU guidelines.
  • Utilize an automated underwriting system to generate accurate findings and support loan decisioning.
  • Review, organize, and collate loan application materials to ensure completeness, accuracy, and compliance with regulatory requirements as well as internal policies and procedures.
