About the Role We are seeking an experienced Real Estate Occupancy Planner to join Anthropic's Workplace and Real Estate team. This role is the DRI for office move management, space restacking, neighborhood planning and key stakeholder engagement across our global portfolio. The ideal candidate brings a rigorous, data-driven approach to occupancy planning, excels at stakeholder collaboration, and is passionate about using technology and analytics to inform smarter space decisions. This individual contributor role will directly shape how Anthropic plans, assigns, and optimizes its physical workspace as we continue to scale.

Requirements

  • Have 5–8 years of experience in occupancy planning, space management, corporate real estate, or a related workplace function
  • Have hands-on experience managing office moves, restacks, or large-scale seat assignments across multiple locations
  • Are proficient with space management or IWMS platforms, preferably OfficeSpace (Archibus, Serraview, or similar)
  • Bring a strong analytical mindset and comfort working with occupancy data, utilization metrics, and headcount models to clearly articulate strategy to stakeholders
  • Have experience partnering with Finance or People Analytics teams on workforce and capacity planning
  • Are skilled at managing multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced, high-growth environment
  • Communicate clearly and confidently with both operational teams and senior leadership
  • Hold a Bachelor's degree in Real Estate, Urban Planning, Business, or a related field

Responsibilities

  • Capacity Planning & Data Analytics
  • Collaborate with the People Analytics team to integrate workforce data into capacity planning models
  • Develop and maintain occupancy dashboards and KPI reporting for leadership visibility
  • Analyze utilization data, badge access trends, and reservation patterns to identify optimization opportunities
  • Build forward-looking capacity forecasts aligned to hiring plans and portfolio lease events
  • Synthesize data from multiple sources to produce clear, defensible recommendations on space allocation and density
  • OfficeSpace Platform Ownership
  • Own the global rollout of OfficeSpace, Anthropic's new capacity planning and space management tool
  • Lead implementation planning, vendor coordination, and change management across all office locations
  • Develop training materials and adoption programs to onboard internal teams and Space Captains onto the platform
  • Establish data governance standards, floor plan accuracy protocols, and seat assignment workflows within OfficeSpace
  • Serve as the internal subject matter expert and primary point of contact for the OfficeSpace platform
  • Drive continuous improvement of the platform's configuration to meet evolving business needs
  • Move & Restack Management
  • Serve as DRI for all office relocation moves and building restacks across Anthropic's global portfolio
  • Own end-to-end move project management: planning, sequencing, stakeholder communication, and execution
  • Partner with Space Captains within each business unit to plan and assign departmental neighborhoods
  • Develop and maintain detailed move plans, seating assignments, and restack timelines
  • Coordinate cross-functionally with IT, Facilities, Security, and HR to ensure seamless transitions
  • Conduct post-move reviews to capture lessons learned and drive continuous improvement
  • Stakeholder Collaboration & Communication
  • Build strong relationships with Space Captains across business units to ensure neighborhood planning reflects team needs
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to team leads on space allocation, growth planning, and workplace norms
  • Create executive-level reporting and communications on occupancy performance and capacity outlook
  • Proactively surface space constraints, risks, and opportunities to the Head of Workplace and Real Estate
