About The Position

Responsible for organizing, planning, managing, and training for the real estate loan post-closing, quality control and funding functions of Marine Credit Union (MCU) and provides member support for internal and external members. Manages the performance of a team of Loan Servicing Representatives, ensuring standards for Quality, Service, Timeliness, and Accuracy are successfully met. Lead the coaching and career development of staff.

Requirements

  • Extensive knowledge of real estate servicing.
  • Strong working knowledge of State and Federal Banking regulations and procedures.
  • Excellent communication, customer service, interpersonal and management skills.
  • Understand and carry out assigned duties effectively with limited supervision.
  • The ability to motivate or influence others is a material part of the job, requiring a significant level of diplomacy and trust.
  • Obtaining cooperation (internally and/or externally) is an important part of the job.
  • Coaching others to perform new tasks beyond their current responsibilities and encouraging others to continuously build on their skills will be a key to success for incumbents in this position.
  • Above average computer skills.
  • Bachelor’s college degree or equivalent in related experience
  • 5+ years in lending industry with emphasis on real estate loan funding/servicing is recommended
  • 2+ years previous experience in real estate loan documentations, loan set-up, and credit and collateral file organization as well as customer relations is recommended
  • 3+ years in supervisory or leadership role is recommended
  • Must be able to sit for extended periods of time.
  • Be able to lift 15 pounds frequently and do repetitive tasks.
  • Ability to verbally communicate in person and telephonically is required.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise the activities of real estate loan post- closing and loan quality control in compliance with State and Federal Regulations and Marine Credit Union Loan Policy.
  • Manage, write and update policies and procedures manual for Loan Operations in these respective areas.
  • Plan and organize workload assignments for staff to ensure most efficient use of resources and to make sure department deadlines are met.
  • Manage the performance of department staff, including training, coaching, and disciplinary matters.
  • Assist in making decisions on team staffing, including hiring, and terminations.
  • Ensures timely filing and follow up on lien placements and other post close items for real estate loans.
  • Ensures timely completion of reconcilements and other accounting functions.
  • Ensures compliance with all regulatory compliance with current and pending applicable rules, laws and regulations.
  • Ensures timely completion of monthly ARM Analysis and customer notification.
  • Ensures timely completion of annual escrow analysis and customer notification.
  • Accurate management and disbursements of real estate property taxes and insurance.
  • Review work focusing upon quality of deliverables and service to the business units.
  • Produce findings and recommendations promptly based upon above activity.
  • Ensure accepted recommendations and best practices are effectively implemented.
  • Maintain documentation and produce effective communications regarding loan servicing issues.
  • Effectively coach and mentor staff to ensure continual improvement of processes, systems and knowledge to increase operating efficiency and reduce risk.
  • Abide by all applicable State and Federal regulations.
  • Abide by all applicable policies and procedures of Marine Credit Union.
  • Ensure to represent and coach to our service principles
  • Expectation to reach out to members for assistance and provide great service
  • Other duties as assigned.
