Requirements

  • Bachelor of Arts/Science degree from an accredited college or university is preferred.
  • 5 years related experience in mortgage lending and underwriting required.
  • 3 years of experience in a leadership or supervisory role required; supervisory experience within Real Estate Lending preferred.
  • Has a good understanding of secondary market guidelines to include automated underwriting.
  • Ability to perform complex income analysis.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to analyze complex tax returns, including corporate, partnerships and sub-s corporations.
  • Ability to perform in a multi-tasked, deadline-oriented environment, with ability to prioritize tasks.
  • Working knowledge of PC with the ability to learn new software.
  • Effective leadership and negotiation skills with ability to adapt to change within working responsibilities, be it internal, market, or regulatory driven.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for all aspects of underwriting and regulatory control of the Real Estate Lending Department.
  • Responsible for maintaining all agency and investor guideline implementation to ensure the safety and quality of the lending portfolio.
  • Employs underwriting methods to ensure compliance with company, agency, NCUA, and industry guidelines.
  • Participates in developing relationships with government agencies, MI vendors, credit agencies, and title companies.
  • Responsible for quality control of Real Estate lending process to include development and implementation of training programs for Loan Officers, Processors, Closers, Underwriters, and auditing personnel.
  • Represents Grow Financial in the community whenever necessary participating in community and advisory groups and organizations.
