The Investment Associate will primarily support commercial real estate debt and equity originators and equity asset managers and will be involved in all aspects of the mortgage origination and equity acquisition process including underwriting, research, due diligence, negotiations, deal structuring, and closing. Financial modeling, investment analysis and preparation of internal investment memoranda are the core aspects of the job. The candidate will also participate in internal and external client meetings, presentations to senior management, and property/market tours. This position offers an outstanding opportunity to develop a solid career in commercial real estate, work on large and complex transactions, and interact with many of the premier players in the industry. The right candidate has useful experience/training, is interested in institutional quality commercial real estate and finance as a career, has strong analytical abilities, communicates clearly, can multi-task, works hard, is a self-starter, is outgoing and works cooperatively in a team environment.

Requirements

  • A business-related Bachelor's or Master's degree with a strong academic record, preferably in Finance or Real Estate.
  • Two or more years of real estate investment/underwriting experience, preferably with an institutional investment company, commercial lender, brokerage company, appraisal firm, or related commercial real estate firm.
  • Proficiency in Argus and advanced modeling skills in Microsoft Excel.
