About The Position

The Investment Accountant II plays a crucial role in ensuring that investment accounting policies and procedures are accurately applied to accounting records. This position works under general supervision and collaborates directly with asset management, portfolio management, and acquisition/disposition teams to prepare financial statements, support audits, and ensure compliance with accounting standards.

Requirements

• 2+ years of accounting experience in public accounting, fund accounting, real estate accounting, and/or financial statement preparation.
• Strong proficiency in MS Office: Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Previous experience using Yardi and Workiva.
• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting.

Nice To Haves

• 3+ years of accounting experience in public accounting, fund accounting, real estate accounting, and/or financial statement preparation.
• CPA license or CPA Candidate.

Responsibilities

• Prepare timely and accurate financial statements including GAAP and/or statutory work papers and supporting schedules.
• Work directly with auditors to answer audit inquiries and provide additional documentation as needed.
• Analyze financial information to ensure compliance with investment accounting policies and procedures.
• Calculate performance returns.
• Prepare Funds' shareholder reports and certain support work-papers as needed.
• Oversee the Fund Admin team to ensure all reporting deadlines are met timely and accurately.
• Review all legal agreements to ensure accounting structures are set up appropriately.
• Prepare and review all REIT compliance and tax compliance schedules.
• Review all Investor agreements to ensure commitments and side letter reporting are accurate.
• Review and research complex transactions as needed.
• Review all debt agreements and ensure debt covenants are adhered to.
