About The Position

The Real Estate & Facilities Space Planner at Exelon is responsible for managing space planning projects for headquarters and field office locations. This role involves developing space plans, coordinating with clients and stakeholders, and ensuring adherence to corporate standards while optimizing space utilization. The Space Planner will also assist in managing construction activities and project budgets, ensuring a smooth transition from planning to delivery.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Interior Design, Engineering, or related field, or 6-9 years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree.
  • 4-7 years' experience in space planning, facility management, project administration, or occupancy planning.
  • Knowledge of building codes, ADA, and local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and CAFM systems, including basic design techniques and construction standards.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Project, PowerPoint, and SharePoint software programs.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to problem solve and identify opportunities for process improvements.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with furniture manufacturers' product lines.
  • Demonstrated ability to conduct cost benefit studies and financial analyses.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain working knowledge of corporate standards, applicable codes, and industry trends.
  • Perform facilities analysis, space planning, and utilization modeling for existing or proposed locations.
  • Coordinate activities between Real Estate & Facilities and external service providers, including contractors and vendors.
  • Develop cost estimates and project budgets, monitoring actual costs against budget.
  • Create and/or modify AutoCAD files as needed for space planning.
  • Support the project bid process and collaborate with Supply to procure and evaluate contracts.
  • Participate in the development of strategic facility occupancy plans for non-utility offices.
