Altus Group is searching for a Real Estate Data Scientist to join the valuation team in our New York office. The Data Scientist supports inspecting, cleansing, transforming, and modeling data to discover useful information, informing conclusions, and supporting decision-making. The procedure includes data collection, processing, exploratory analysis, modeling and algorithms, and outputs.

Maintain existing analysis templates, creating further efficiencies, and leading efforts on initiatives that will complement our valuation and data platforms.
Using quantitative analysis techniques such as: check raw data for anomalies, re-perform important calculations, check relationships between numbers that should be related predictably, and normalize numbers to make comparisons easier.
Improve client deliverables through data visualization.
Work closely with real estate valuation colleagues to translate appraisal insights into data-driven tools, models, or dashboards.
Support data ingestion pipelines and database management to ensure the integrity, quality, and timeliness of incoming real estate datasets.

Must have strong Excel proficiency and experience with VBA.
A Bachelor's degree in real estate, data/computer science, or a related field with a minimum 3.2 GPA.
Valuation and real estate consulting experience is an asset.
Critical Thinking, Presentation Skills, Project Management.
Experience with Python or R for data analysis and modeling is a strong asset.
Familiarity with SQL and cloud-based data platforms (e.g., Snowflake, BigQuery, or AWS) is a plus.
Strong interest in the intersection of real estate and data science, with a desire to apply technical skills to practical valuation problems.
Willingness to work outside regular hours.
