Summary Objective The purpose of this position is to coordinate real estate leasing and disposal of publicly owned real property activities. Establish and maintain leasing and sales transaction database and GIS tracking methods. This class works independently, under limited supervision, reporting major activities through periodic meetings. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS The essential functions listed below are those that represent the majority of the time spent working in this class. Management may assign additional functions related to the type of work of the class as necessary. * Provides technical assistance and instruction regarding real estate property transactions. * Identifies, evaluates and recommends Metro properties for disposal. * Assists with the maintenance of the real estate property strategic plan. * Prepares and submits correspondence, maintains records and files, and submits reports on progress or completion of projects. * Coordinates the maintenance of Metro owned real estate properties. * Assists with monitoring of real estate expenditures and associated operating or project budget allocations. * Coordinates preparation of real estate contracts, lease agreements, conveyance agreements and standard forms and submits for review. * Represents the department at real estate closings, and meets with property owners and prospective buyers. * Reviews offers to purchase property, examines project plans and property sites, and reviews appraisals prepared by independent sources. * Researches government and court real estate, project site and prospective buyer and development records. * Accesses computer systems, including LOJIC and Hansen, to prepare maps of properties to be sold, leased or subject to other administrative actions. * Represents the department to governmental agencies, professionals, and the public to provide information, answer questions and coordinate real estate leases, land assembly, and disposal of real estate property. * Works closely with boards and commissions who own title to various public properties. * Performs related work as assigned. Â MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS * Bachelor's Degree in Real Estate Law, Urban Planning, Community Development, Business or Public Administration or related discipline. * Two (2) years of real estate: property management, asset management, or development experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. OTHER MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS * Must provide one's own source of transportation. * Must possess and maintain a valid state driver's license with an acceptable driving history. PHYSICAL DEMANDS Physical demands refer to the requirements for physical exertion and coordination of limb and body movement. * Performs sedentary work that involves walking or standing some of the time and involves exerting up to 10 pounds of force on a regular and recurring basis or sustained keyboard operations.
