About The Position

The purpose of this job is to provide technical expertise and assistance in all aspects of moving loan applications through the real estate loan process to successful closing and provide assistance with portfolio management after the loans are closed. This position may be filled as a Level I or II. Additional responsibilities and qualifications apply.

Requirements

  • Junior college/two-year college training or equivalent job related experience.
  • Two years knowledge of commercial real estate collateral, security documentation, lien perfection requirements, and loan compliance regulations required.
  • Knowledge of bank policies, procedures, and commercial loan software preferred.
  • Retail Bank knowledge including product knowledge and sales skills.
  • Knowledge of commercial real estate loan documentation preferred.
  • Interpersonal Skills.

  • Communication Skills - verbal and written.
  • Time management skills.
  • Excellent computer skills in Microsoft Word and Excel.

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum two (2) years prior experience as a Real Estate Assistant I or experience in commercial real estate collateral, security documentation, lien perfection requirements, and loan compliance regulations.
  • The ability or experience working with loan systems to help bring loan packaging requirements to completion.
  • In-depth and functional understanding of Commercial Real Estate and hands-on experience in related loan documentation.

Responsibilities

  • All activity involved from taking the real estate loan application and moving it to and beyond the closing.
  • Packaging, assembly, review and analysis, delivery to loan officer, completion of requirements for delivery to CDP, actual closing activity, loan booking and final review to perfection.
  • Assist with all activity after loan closing to successfully service and manage real estate portfolio.
  • Booking documentation, processing draws, exception processing for financial statements and collateral documents, follow-up on recordings, appraisals, insurance, and other financial documentation.
  • Perform various administrative duties as needed for lenders and managers.
  • Customer service duties as well as making referrals/leads to officers and other divisions.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
  • Level II additional responsibilities include assisting with all activity after loan closing, processing draws and exceptions, reviewing credit ratings, tracking commitment letters and expirations, and managing loan renewals.
  • Responsible for coordination and perfection of loan documentation after approval.
  • Responsible for ensuring accuracy in portfolio, past dues, exceptions, and other responsibilities directly related to portfolio management.
  • Represent CRM in OCC and Loan Review, as needed, related to portfolio quality and exceptions.
  • Training and possible management of REA (level I) and RE Secretaries as assigned.
