About The Position
We are looking for several Ready-Mix truck drivers to join our team at Knife River Northern California Ready-Mix division, serving the Modesto marketplace with ready-mix concrete delivery. The primary responsibility of this position is to ensure the safe and timely delivery of ready-mix products to our customers. The Ready-Mix truck driver positions may be dispatched from our Stockton, Elk Grove, or Modesto CA locations to deliver ready-mix concrete to customers throughout the six ready-mix plants located in Northern California. For those without prior ready-mix truck driving experience, training will be provided to ensure you are well-prepared for the role. As a Ready-Mix truck driver, you will perform daily pre-trip and post-trip safety inspections of the ready-mix truck in accordance with DOT and CA BIT regulations. This includes checking fluids such as oil and antifreeze, checking lights, and reporting any maintenance issues to the mechanic before getting dispatched. You will drive the truck under the loading hopper to receive sand, gravel, cement, and water, starting the mixer and adjusting the ready-mix to the proper slump. After loading, you will rinse the downloading area and clean off any material spilled on the outside of the drum. Your duties will also include driving the truck equipped with an auxiliary concrete mixer to deliver concrete mix to job sites. Upon arrival, you will attach chutes and unload the concrete. After delivery, it is essential to clean the truck to prevent concrete from hardening in the mixer and on the truck, using a water hose or, where applicable, hazardous materials such as hydrochloric or muriatic acid. You will ensure proper use of truck tracking software and work with central dispatch or plant personnel for your daily schedule. Compliance with OSHA, DOT, EPA, MSHA, Federal, State, and Local safety and environmental regulations is mandatory, including attending safety and required training. Regular attendance is required for this position.
