About The Position

The Ready Mix Driver at Preferred Materials is responsible for ensuring health and safety standards are met while delivering ready mix concrete to various work sites. This role involves driving a concrete mixer, maintaining the cleanliness of the vehicle, and performing physical tasks such as lifting and unloading materials. The driver must navigate uneven and slippery surfaces and adhere to company safety policies at all times.

Requirements

• Must have a Class A or B driver's license with a current medical card (or ability to obtain one).
• 1 year of related experience or training.
• No DUI's within the last 2 years and minimal moving violations.
• Ability to lift or move up to 50 pounds.
• Good interpersonal skills and ability to maintain respectful relationships with staff.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, sales tickets, operating instructions, and procedure manuals.

Responsibilities

• Drive concrete mixer to work sites and discharge load.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety standards and company policies.
• Hose down the rig to maintain cleanliness.
• Walk on uneven and slippery surfaces at work sites and the plant.
• Unload and attach extension chutes weighing 30 to 50 pounds to the primary chute.
• Lift and move transported materials regularly, typically 25-50 pounds.
• Perform routine maintenance such as oiling, greasing, and servicing equipment.
• Use hand tools such as wrenches, screwdrivers, and shovels as needed.
