About The Position

Directs and coordinates activities related to production of company aggregate products, third-party crushing, and all operations of our Ready-Mix sites. This includes safety, compliance, source planning, and quality control at all aggregate and ready-mix locations. Working closely with all other lines of business, to champion our operational goals and long-term growth strategies. This key role demands a visionary leader eager to promote excellence, inspire teams, and deliver outstanding results for our customers and our company.

Requirements

  • BS Degree and or High School diploma with five (5) or more years' experience in the industry.
  • Ability to manage and motivate team members of varying pipeline levels to engage in and support all safety, production, and financial initiatives.
  • Experience in aggregate production, delivery, sales, maintenance, and customer service is highly preferred.
  • In-depth knowledge of applicable rules and regulations governed by federal, state, and local regulatory agencies, including OSHA/MSHA, DEQ, EPA, and local road and highway departments.
  • Self-directed, results-oriented, and highly motivated, requiring minimal direct guidance.
  • Experience effectively managing and leading teams.
  • Plant Management experience (3+ years highly preferred).
  • Strong understanding of basic accounting and financial principles.

Responsibilities

  • Consistently assess resources against demand to ensure that aggregate resources are available.
  • Identify and lead procurement efforts of future strategic aggregate reserves.
  • Set and manage production schedules and priorities for internal crews and third-party crushers.
  • Responsible for financial performance and profit/loss at all aggregate locations.
  • Ensure safety, quality and efficiency standards are met while directing operations of plant sites and ensuring customer satisfaction.
  • Responsible for hiring, training, and developing employees to perform at their highest level.
  • Forecast cost and production quantities monthly.
  • Manage, track, and accurately report inventory levels to management including monthly, quarterly, and year end inventories.
  • Review and analyze production, quality control, maintenance, and operational reports to determine causes of nonconformity with product specifications and operating or production problems.
  • Develop and implement operating methods and procedures designed to eliminate operating problems and improve product quality and production efficiency.
  • Compile, maintain, and present production data to management.
  • Establish and implement key performance indicators and utilize them to manage assigned sites.
  • Implement effective maintenance practices and planning to reduce down-time.
  • Work with the sales team and quality control to meet customer demand and manage short- and long-term product needs effectively.
  • Travel to and from various aggregate & ready-mix locations.
  • Effectively manage multiple priorities, problem-solve, and work under consistent pressure of deadlines.
  • Lead, inspire, and motivate others to achieve optimal performance in all business facets.
  • Other projects and job duties as assigned to meet the needs of the business.
  • Champion Safety & Culture: Cultivate a safety-first environment, partnering with field and safety personnel to minimize risk and enhance workplace conditions for every team member.
  • Operational Excellence: Oversee daily operations, focusing on safe production, consistent quality, and customer satisfaction, while maintaining the highest standards for safety and environmental compliance.
  • Continuous Improvement: Drive performance metrics and operational enhancements, surpassing company goals and industry benchmarks.
  • Engaged Leadership: Connect regularly with employees, improving job site safety and morale through proactive communication and hands-on involvement.
  • Quality Assurance: Conduct routine job-site inspections, collaborating with the Safety Manager to identify and resolve deficiencies.
  • Investigative Approach: Collaborate with safety teams to conduct investigations, instilling best practices and accountability.
  • Budget & Resource Management: Develop and manage annual operating budgets, optimizing resource allocation for efficiency and profitability.
  • Training & Development: Organize formal training initiatives to elevate safety, operations, and customer service standards; ensure robust onboarding and mentoring for all new hires.
  • Team Building: Foster high-performing teams and nurture talent for future growth opportunities.
  • Compliance & Regulatory Partnership: Guarantee crews are equipped, trained, and compliant with all federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Site Management: Direct site managers to meet production targets, ensuring operations are safe, timely, and within budget.
  • Sales & Marketing Leadership: Drive sales and marketing strategies to maximize product reach, exceed customer expectations, and enhance profitability.
  • Government Relations: Represent the company during inspections and audits, partnering with agencies such as OSHA, MSHA, and DOT.
  • Strategic Planning: Collaborate with executive leadership to define long-range goals and strategies for sustained success.
