Sylvan Learning Center is seeking a warm, welcoming, and energetic teacher to join our team of educators. This part-time position offers a flexible schedule tailored to your preferences, allowing you to work with the age group and subjects you are most confident in. We provide tutoring sessions Monday through Friday from 3:30 PM to 7:30 PM, and you are not required to be available for all hours. Each group of students is limited to three, ensuring that you have ample time to build relationships and understand your students' needs. We are particularly looking for a teacher who can tutor in-person and is available after school hours. The ideal candidate will be able to teach reading and writing to elementary, middle school, and high school students. A strong ability to teach early reading will allow for more scheduling opportunities. Comfort with technology is essential, as we currently offer both online and in-person sessions, although most of our students are taught in-person. Our student demographic ranges from kindergarten through college, with a majority being between 3rd and 8th grade. We encourage current graduate students to apply, and while teaching experience and certification are preferred, they are not mandatory. Experience in supporting students enrolled in special education is highly valued. Our current teachers work between 2 to 25 hours each week, and we welcome applicants who may only be available for a few hours weekly.
