The Reading Specialist will build a caseload of clients to fill the hours he/she wants to work. The Reading Specialist provides individual tutoring to students who struggle with reading. The Reading Specialist may travel to different schools to provide services when available during the daytime or he/she may provide 1:1 tutoring after school and during the early evening to students at area libraries or at the Learning Center. The Reading Specialist evaluates a student's academic issues as they pertain to reading, set measurable objectives, and provides instruction to improve upon deficit areas. The Reading Specialist maintains progress records and communicates progress to parents. He/she must be able to respond to work requests very quickly via email or phone.
