The position involves working closely with classroom teachers and building administrators to create a student-centered system of intervention aimed at closing the achievement gap in reading. The role requires providing high-quality, research-based reading interventions to both individual students and small groups, ensuring that students master grade-level standards and curriculum. The individual will maintain accurate progress monitoring data and communicate student progress with families and necessary staff. Attendance at grade-level planning and data meetings is required, along with the demonstration of research-based instructional practices that enhance student literacy performance. The position also includes assisting teachers with literacy resources and materials, developing staff members' knowledge and skills through job-embedded support, and analyzing student assessment data collaboratively with teachers. Building strong relationships with teachers, administrators, and staff is essential, as is maintaining professional competence through ongoing education and self-guided growth activities. Additional duties may be assigned by the Building/District Administration in accordance with district policies and practices.
