Reading Instructor (Part-Time Faculty Pool) Clovis Community College
About The Position
Clovis Community College Desirable Qualifications Include teaching experience in developmental reading at the secondary or post-secondary level; knowledge of current reading theories, pedagogies, and critical thinking skills; experience working with students of various ages, cultural, economic, and educational backgrounds; experience in computer assisted instruction and other instructional technologies; related work and professional experience; knowledge of the On Course principles and teaching practices; and preparation for and interest in teaching community college students. Minimum Qualifications Include an earned master’s degree in education with a specialization in reading or teaching reading; OR bachelor’s degree in any academic discipline and 12 semester units of course work in teaching reading and master’s degree in English, literature, linguistics, applied linguistics, composition, comparative literature, TESL , or psychology; OR a valid California Community College Credential; OR the equivalent education and/or experience (requires an equivalency) ; AND demonstrated sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students.
