Reading and Math Tutor
About The Position
Sylvan Learning of Bellevue is looking for a part-time Reading and Math Tutor to join our team. This individual contributor role will pay a competitive hourly wage of $14 to $17 per hour. The primary responsibility of the position is to provide one-on-one academic support to students in a personalized learning environment. Our Reading and Math Tutor position will offer a base hourly wage of $14 to $17 per hour, depending on availability and level of responsibilities. The position will also include an up to 35% discount on tutoring services. It's a flexible, fun and supportive environment with no late nights, early mornings or holiday shifts. Many of our full-time staff over the years have started out as instructors as well as many of the franchisees in the system! Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a related subject, such as education, or a field of expertise, such as math or English is preferred but not required
- Previous teaching and/or tutoring experience with elementary, middle, or high school students is required
- Proven success in consulting and/or working with parents and students
- Must have reliable transportation
Responsibilities
- Facilitate a personalized learning program for each student
- Develop a rapport with our students to boost their academic confidence
- Coordinate and conduct student and parent reviews
- Keep accurate records of student progress
- Maintain a Goodwill Ambassador attitude at all times
- Advocate the Sylvan Learning philosophy
