About The Position
Oppenheimer & Co. Inc., a leading investment bank, is currently seeking an equity research associate to support the Analytics, Data, and Security Infrastructure Software sector. The position is located in New York (other locations will not be considered) and will be part of a three-person team which includes the analyst and two associates. Our ideal candidate has prior equity research experience and is licensed for FINRA Registrations (SIE Securities Exam/7/63/86/87). Additionally, the candidate should possess a strong background in finance and accounting and is proficient at modeling complex businesses. Strong modeling skills are a must have for the job. Prior work experience analyzing or managing financial statements or quarterly earnings reports is ideal. Exposure to the software industry is a strong plus, though we will consider all qualified candidates. Lastly and most importantly, creative writing, excellent grammar, and the ability to tell a story, as well as communicate ideas and views clearly are a must. The position demands independence, initiative, and entrepreneurship, as the associate will gain responsibility over a broad array of financial model building and updating, report writing, and other duties. Attention to detail, a strong work ethic, and ability to multi-task are also critical.
