You will report to the Fuel Rod & Thermal Hydraulic Design Manager and be located at our Cranberry facility. This is a paid full-time onsite position for the summer.
Requirements
- Pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in nuclear engineering, mechanical engineering, or related discipline
- Minimum GPA of 3.0
- Completed Sophomore year of college
- Computer simulation, programming skills and Linux experience
Responsibilities
- You will participate in introductory thermal hydraulic design specific training and learning seminars
- You will acquire knowledge about reactor core thermal hydraulic design, the key fuel features and operating parameters, the design process and parameters, the codes used to evaluate thermal hydraulic design and the different analyses performed
- You will perform thermal hydraulic design analyses by using the internal subchannel codes, following approved methodologies
- You will work directly with industry professionals who will teach you the technical and professional aspects of fuel rod design and working in the nuclear industry
