VacationRenter is actively seeking a talented Software Engineer, React Native to join our engineering organization. Our mobile experience is central to how travelers discover and book their perfect stay, and this role is crucial to delivering a fast, intuitive, and delightful app used by millions of travelers worldwide. As a React Native Engineer, you’ll work closely with design, product, and engineering teams to build and evolve our mobile application. You’ll help craft elegant user experiences, ensure high performance across both iOS and Android platforms, and contribute to the architectural decisions that shape our mobile ecosystem. This is a high-impact role where you’ll own core parts of the app and play a key role in defining mobile engineering best practices. This role will report directly to the Head of Engineering. This is a full-time hybrid position, based in Dallas.

  • Kickstart our mobile app from scratch, setting up the foundation for a fast, reliable, and beautiful React Native experience
  • Design, build, and ship high-quality features that make trading simple and intuitive on mobile
  • Collaborate closely with design, backend, and product teams to turn ideas into polished, production-ready experiences
  • Help define our mobile architecture, tooling, and best practices as we grow the app and the team
  • Take ownership of your work (from prototype to production) with a focus on performance, usability, and scalability
  • Write clean, testable code and contribute to a culture of technical excellence
  • Work hand-in-hand with other engineers to move fast, learn fast, and iterate quickly
  • 5+ years of experience in software development, with a focus on mobile applications
  • Experience with React, Node.js, and PostgresQL or roughly-equivalent technologies
  • Extensive experience with React Native, having led or significantly contributed to mobile app projects built from scratch
  • Deep knowledge of JavaScript/TypeScript and related tooling
  • Ability to communicate clearly and write clear documentation
  • Hands-on experience with web technologies such as React, HTML, and CSS, especially helpful for aligning mobile and web experiences
  • Familiarity with additional mobile frameworks or libraries
  • Contributions to open-source projects in React Native
  • Prior experience at a startup or travel company
