Food Authority Position: Reach Truck Operator Since its inception in 1976, the team of highly skilled employees at Food Authority have been dedicated to one simple goal: providing the finest quality products and services to its customers. Fifty decades and counting, our company operates out of Melville, NY as well as Jessup, MD and Westborough, MA. Description: The objective of this position is to exceed the customers expectation of service by assuring the safe transportation and delivery of food to customer locations, following company policies and procedures. Assuring shipment of temperature controlled and undamaged product, proper count of goods at customer locations, assuring inventory levels are FIFO in the customer locations.

Requirements

Must have Stand Up Reach Machine experience
Follows all safety requirements and policies
Must be proficient in speaking, reading, and writing English to effectively communicate, follow written instructions, complete documentation, and ensure safety and accuracy in daily operations
The ability to lift 25/50/80 pounds regularly
The ability to respond quickly to sounds
The ability to move safely over uneven terrain or in confined spaces
The ability to see and respond to dangerous situations
Must be 18yrs or over
1 year Reach Truck experience
Familiarity with Warehouse Management Systems and Radio Frequency.
Must be able to work in a freezer environment
Safe and accurate receipt, storage, and shipment of food products utilizing equipment and radio frequency equipment.
Ability to work in fast-paced environment.
Ability to pay close attention to details and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

Assuring the safe transportation and delivery of food to customer locations, following company policies and procedures.
Assuring shipment of temperature controlled and undamaged product, proper count of goods at customer locations, assuring inventory levels are FIFO in the customer locations.
Required to rotate stock
Fill pick slots
Put away all incoming frozen deliveries
Load and unload trucks and containers using equipment provided in safe and efficient manner.
Check and count freight for accuracy and/or damage.
Take inventory as needed.
Direct product to correct area in warehouse.
Report faulty equipment, damage to racks, and other safety hazards to supervisor.
