About The Position

The Reading Rock Assistant Regional Distribution Center (RDC) Manager is an entrepreneurial driven individual who supports the day-to-day operations of the RDC and is focused on promoting and enhancing Reading Rock Business to all customers.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma
  • Valid driver’s license and good driving record.
  • Current Forklift license

  • 2-year degree preferred
  • Construction Industry Experience: preferred, not necessary
  • Customer Service Experience: 3+ years preferred

Responsibilities

  • Work with the RDC Manager and lead by example to implement continuous improvement initiatives for customer service team members to ensure the Industry’s Best Customer Experience
  • Stay abreast of the ever-changing needs of our customers to help properly position Reading Rock for sustained growth.
  • Work with local team to maintain/update displays, samples, and other merchandise necessary to successfully show and sell the various product groups from the RDC.
  • Support RDC growth with sales functions including order fulfilment and customer selections through various consults with retail and wholesale customers.
  • Ensure the Industry’s Best Customer Experience.
  • Order Fulfillment Process to be accurate and thorough.
  • Coordinate the fulfillment of back orders and special-order products with purchasing, the customer, yard, and dispatch.
  • Process cash, account, counter, and showroom sales through order entry as well as consultative role.
  • Ensure material shipments are appropriately scheduled within terms and properly communicated with the yard, dispatch, and the customer. Inspect product load for accuracy and safely move it around the warehouse or facility to ensure timely and complete delivery.
  • Be proficient in product knowledge for material such as fireplaces, thin/adhered stone, masonry, and hardscape products. This would also include the ability to do a material estimate/take off that appropriately matches the scope of the project.
  • Be proficient in coordinating with the installation managers during the install of RR supplied products.
  • Activities include, but not limited to forklift certification and operation, support inventory management, interplant activities, follow safety policies and control expenses.
  • Manually or mechanically load or unload materials from pallets, skids, platforms, cars, lifting devices, or other transport vehicles.
  • Vigorous compliance with SOP’s, policies, procedures, and performance standards.
  • Report any safety concerns to Safety Manager or supervisor. Take accountability to ensure safety procedures, training and policies are enforced.
  • Participate in Company inventory counts.
  • Work with the RDC Manager to Retain proper paperwork in a safe location, manage sample program and sustain a clean appearance for visiting customers of both the center and yard.
  • Maintain work area to be clean and presentable.
  • Strictly adhere to company and OSHA policy requirements.
  • Work with the local team to identify target contracting customers, identify ways to enhance the relationship with them and communicate with sales and RDC Manager on direction with each.
  • Assist outside sales with customer relationships as it relates to the selection process and order fulfillment.
  • Work with the RDC Manager to resolve matters affiliated with all key internal and external stakeholders for prompt and equitable resolutions.
  • Professionally resolve conflicts associated with an order as required.
  • Complete Customer Concern Form (CCF) paperwork according to policy when applicable.
  • Willingness to cover other RDC locations as directed and work in the seasonal Saturday schedule
  • Participate in and/or help coordinate training events to enhance skill sets when and where provided.
