Andersen Corporation is seeking a self-motivated RDI Test Wall Technician to support an energetic group of Research, Development & Innovation (RD&I) Engineers that lead projects focused on window and door products.

Requirements

  • Ability to build test fixtures.
  • Able to be PIT Certified to operate the Quattro unit lift, overhead hoist, walkie riders and fork-lifts.
  • High school diploma / GED / Equivalent.
  • Ability to follow the department and corporate safety guidelines.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to use (or learn to use) Outlook, Word, Excel, LabVIEW, Instron, and MTS programs.
  • Ability to be physically active during the shift that includes standing for long periods, lifting (up to 50 lbs), bending, climbing stair-ladders, etc.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with hand and power tools.
  • Ability to work flexible hours if testing needs require it.

Nice To Haves

  • 2-year degree in Technology or equivalent experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze data and assist with written documentation.
  • Advanced knowledge of window and door products.
  • Advanced knowledge of window and door installations.

Responsibilities

  • Install window & door units per installation methods for all Andersen Corporation product lines. This includes building buck fixtures and ensuring nominal installs are plumb, level, square.
  • Perform window & door tests.
  • Collect the testing data in network folders, Excel spreadsheets, and the Work Request Log.
  • Complete material handling as needed.
  • Operates the Quattro unit lift, overhead hoist, walkie riders and fork-lifts.
  • Work independently with direction from engineers to test units and materials in support of their project work.
  • Prepare samples for testing using saws and other shop equipment.
  • Follow established procedures to test materials.
  • Work effectively as a team member and manage multiple priorities.
  • Maintain an organized and clean work environment.
  • Follow required safety and environmental procedures.
