The Licensed Mental Health Professional (LMHP) provides direct clinical services including mental health assessments, diagnosis, crisis intervention, therapeutic interventions, and counseling services within community-based mental health and stabilization programs. This role may be filled by a fully licensed LMHP or a license-eligible clinician (such as an LMHP-Resident or LMHP-Supervisee) practicing under approved clinical supervision. Services are delivered ethically, clinically appropriate, and in full compliance with DBHDS and DMAS requirements. The LMHP delivers assessment-driven, therapeutic, and stabilization-focused services to individuals experiencing behavioral health crises. The LMHP may work independently or, when license-eligible, under appropriate clinical supervision. The LMHP may also serve as the lead clinician when working alongside QMHPs, Peer Recovery Specialists, and other support staff, ensuring clinical accuracy, service quality, and regulatory compliance.
