RCP RRT: Irvine Respiratory Care Dept Primary Duties and Responsibilities Performs all respiratory care modalities in the treatment of pulmonary disease and disorders, adhering to all department and hospital required license(s), certifications, regulatory agency requirements. Performs bedside diagnostic tests and assessments to evaluate the extent of pulmonary dysfunction. Manages and monitors mechanical ventilation and artificial airways. Participates in cardiac arrest/respiratory arrest code situations and assists with intubation. Maintains a working knowledge of department standard operating procedures, including the use of specialized instrumentation, Quality Control requirements, and preventive maintenance. This includes the knowledge of specialized equipment and related computer systems. Projects an image of professionalism in communication, appearance and conduct. Supports the department mission. Participates in the continuous quality improvement process. Position may require travel between various Hoag Hospital (Hoag) locations and its affiliates. Performs other duties as assigned.
