About The Position

The RCOH Integrated Process Team (IPT) Member SkillBridge Program is a three-month, full-time training opportunity providing structured, supervised professional development for transitioning Service Members. The program translates Navy operational, maintenance, and coordination experience into civilian shipyard program support functions aligned with Refueling and Complex Overhaul (RCOH) environments. Training is delivered through classroom instruction, guided documentation exercises, simulations, and supervised observational learning within Phoenix Group’s defense program support environment. The program emphasizes action tracking, risk documentation, meeting support, milestone awareness, stakeholder coordination, and execution-level program integration within carrier RCOH contexts. This SkillBridge position is strictly a training and professional development role. Participants do not displace civilian employees, perform unsupervised labor, or assume independent operational responsibility. All activities are conducted under direct supervision and in accordance with Department of Defense SkillBridge requirements. The RCOH Integrated Process Team (IPT) Member will support aircraft carrier Refueling and Complex Overhaul (RCOH) programs by assisting with meeting documentation, action item tracking, risk register updates, milestone awareness reviews, stakeholder coordination, and execution-level program integration under supervision. Responsibilities include supporting IPT charters, preparing meeting minutes, maintaining action trackers, documenting decisions, monitoring milestone status, and assisting with logistics coordination supporting RCOH planning and execution. This SkillBridge position is strictly a training and professional development role. Participants do not displace civilian employees, perform unsupervised labor, or assume independent operational responsibilities. All activities are supervised and conducted in accordance with Department of Defense SkillBridge requirements.

Requirements

  • High School diploma (or equivalent) plus four (4) years of relevant experience providing an understanding of:
  • Technical or operational principles, practices, and terminology
  • Scientific, technical, or social science environments or
  • Aircraft Carrier (CVN) equipment, systems, or shipboard operations
  • Command Endorsement for SkillBridge
  • Transitioning Service Member
  • Must meet all Department of Defense/Department of War SkillBridge eligibility requirements and continue to meet the requirements during participation in the program
  • Develops, authors, and edits original technical documentation and records
  • Strong administrative, organizational, and time-management abilities
  • Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure, multi-tasking environment
  • Ability to interact professionally with all levels of military rank and civilian equivalents
  • Demonstrated ability to support team coordination and personnel effectiveness
  • Ability to accurately capture complex technical discussions
  • Minimum typing speed of 50 words per minute
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
  • Experience operating web-based and teleconferencing platforms
  • Ability to learn and utilize additional tools such as virtual office platforms, Visio, and similar software as required
  • Ability to work in a shipyard industrial environment
  • Must be physically capable of:
  • Traversing stairs and ship ladders
  • Walking extended distances
  • Working while wearing required shipyard personal protective equipment (PPE)

Nice To Haves

  • Military Experience highly desired
  • Familiarity with military operational environments strongly preferred
  • Aircraft Carrier, combat systems, or communications experience is highly desired

Responsibilities

  • Support RCOH IPT leaders by preparing meeting agendas, coordinating logistics, and assisting with execution planning
  • Attend technical and programmatic meetings and accurately capture discussions, decisions, action items, and outcomes
  • Produce clear, concise, and accurate meeting minutes and technical records
  • Utilize structured documentation techniques, including technical writing, flowcharting, brainstorming capture, affinity diagrams, and mind mapping
  • Maintain organized records and documentation repositories for assigned IPTs
  • Ensure records are complete, accurate, and available for historical reference and program audits
  • Support fast-paced, high-visibility meetings involving senior military and civilian personnel
