The role involves effectively assisting physicians in performing a variety of highly specialized Cardiovascular procedures including, but not limited to, diagnostic and interventional catheterization, pacemaker/defibrillator implantation, intra-aortic balloon pump operation (IABP), and electrophysiology studies.

Requirements

• A graduate of a diploma, associate or baccalaureate academic program in health science or Graduate of an accredited program in invasive cardiovascular technology.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS).
• Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) through CCI; OR Registered Cardiac Electrophysiology Specialist (RCES); OR RRT with post primary certification of Cardiac-Interventional Radiography through ARRT.

Nice To Haves

• 1 year of Cardiac Catheterization Lab experience.
• Special procedures experience.
• Certified Surgical Assistant (CSA).
• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) - Cert.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support Cert (ACLS).

Responsibilities

• Effectively assist physicians in performing a variety of highly specialized Cardiovascular procedures.
• Evaluate and document patient status and respond appropriately; intervene/refers in a timely manner to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Reflect clinical expertise, competence, and proficiency based on knowledge/skills and exceed essential job responsibilities per department standards.
• Demonstrate commitment to continued learning and sharing knowledge with patients and co-workers.
• Exhibit 'team player' characteristics, punctuality, willingness to assist others, and participation in subcommittees and in-services.
