About The Position

Zurich is currently looking for an experienced Crop Claims Specialist to join our Rural Community Insurance Services (RCIS) team. This position will work virtually out of their home in Minnesota Counties: Becker, Clay, Norman, Mahnomen, Otter Tail, Wilkin, Big Stone, Traverse, Grant, Traverse, and Douglas. With moderate direction, they will investigate, evaluate and conclude complex field inspections by following appropriate regulatory and company rules and procedures to ensure that claims are handled in the most effective, efficient way while delivering a customer-centric claims service. They will also provide support to Area Claims Managers either as a local claims specialist in the facilitation of general day-to-day operations and claims management. In addition, the selected candidates will support the lower-level adjusting staff by completing and/or providing training and assistance with complex claims. Requirements

• High School Diploma or Equivalent and 4 or more years of experience in the agricultural or the crop insurance industry.
• Crop Adjuster Proficiency Program (CAPP) must be obtained within 180 days of hire date.
• Personal transportation and travel within assigned territory and travel outside of assigned area to assist with workload(s), participate on CAT team and/or provide remote assistance for the CROP Claims Care Center calls and/or CCP Claims.
• Ability to walk in agricultural fields up to 3 miles, climb agricultural storage bins up to 25 feet, lift 25 lbs to 50 lbs, and work outdoors in varying temperatures/weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Exercise judgement to determine liability by gathering and analyzing relevant facts, utilizing applicable procedures.
• Exercise judgment to determine policy verification and coverage determination by analyzing applicable coverage for claims and determining whether the loss falls within the coverage.
• Participates in Risk Management Agency initiated reviews and referrals for sake of operations integrity and quality assurance.
• Protect Zurich's reputation by keeping claims information confidential.
• Maintain professional and technical knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, staying current with industry trends, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies.
