About The Position

The Raw production team prepares product using established Standard Operating Procedures, transport supplies, grind, flake, and process ingredients, and move finished product to designated locations.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Ability to read and interpret documents in English or Spanish
  • Sufficient written communication and reading skills
  • Ability to operate or to quickly learn equipment
  • Good time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
  • Ability to follow directions
  • Ability to assess products for quality compliance
  • Must be able to accurately use scales, measure, and legibly document information
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position during the shift, using repetitive motion
  • Must be able occasionally lift, push, pull and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds across the plant for various needs
  • Must have good hand/eye coordination

Responsibilities

  • Prepares meat and seasoning for processing of meat sticks
  • Load materials, supplies, and finished goods (manually and/or using hand racks) and transport them
  • Accurately measure and document, weights, temperatures and measurements to ensure a high quality product is produced
  • Operate equipment (grinder, meat extruder) to make snack sticks and bars; make minor adjustments as needed and notify management immediately if there is a problem that requires further attention, or there are any safety or production concerns
  • Guide the meat sticks onto a railing, and insert rod through the sticks, transporting sticks weighing up to 20 - 30 lbs overhead onto a truck, then moving it into a separate area via wheeled trucks.
  • Confirms ingredients match recipe; expedites product as required by production schedule
  • Operate a flaker machine
  • Place green mats and bars onto carts
  • Follow all SOP’s, safety rules, GMP (good manufacturing practices) and quality policies
  • When problems arise, immediately notify and work with management to resolves issues
  • Document records required to ensure quality, proper tracking and designate product in accordance to the SOP’s
  • Collects and properly disposes of scrap product and trash; maintains a safe and clean work environment
  • Maintain a clean work area including using water hose and squeegee to clean the floor
  • Ability to maintain good attendance in accordance with our attendance policy
  • Performs other duties as assigned
