The Raw Materials/Grading Intern position at Masters Gallery Foods is a summer internship for 2025, focused on assisting with the inspection and grading of incoming cheese. The intern will work closely with various departments, including management, production, quality, and the lab department, to understand the cross-functional aspects of the grading department. This role provides an opportunity to learn about cheese performance issues and participate in bulk testing and compliance activities.

  • Assist with grading all cheese used in Production for industrial and ingredient sales.
  • Assist with troubleshooting cheese performance issues.
  • Enter data for bulk cheese, bulk holds, and bulk compliance issues.
  • Assist with pizza bakes and other required bulk testing.
  • File completed paperwork.
  • Attend vendor/customer joint grading sessions.
  • Current enrollment in an undergraduate degree program in Food Science, Chemistry, Microbiology, or a related field.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Previous experience in a food manufacturing or laboratory setting is desired.
  • Good organizational skills and analytical ability.
  • Knowledge or willingness to learn the AOAC-approved methods for cheese testing.
  • Ability to lift up to 45 pounds.
