Morton Industries is hiring for 1st shift Raw Material Receiving! SUMMARY Operates industrial trucks, including side lifts and other material handling equipment, within receiving areas, yard, and warehouse. Responsible for receiving, unloading, transporting, and maintaining accurate inventory of raw materials. Interacts directly with truck drivers to coordinate deliveries, verify shipments, and ensure safe and efficient unloading. Supports production by ensuring accurate material flow and inventory control.

Responsibilities

  • Loads and unloads inbound trucks carrying raw materials, ensuring accuracy and proper handling.
  • Operates side lifts, forklifts, and other equipment to transport long or oversized materials safely throughout the facility and yard.
  • Communicates directly with truck drivers to check in deliveries, verify paperwork, and direct trucks to appropriate unloading area.
  • Inspects incoming materials for damage, accuracy, and compliance with purchase orders.
  • Positions forks, side lift arms, or other lifting devices under, over, or around materials and transports loads to designated storage or staging area.
  • Maintains organization and accuracy of raw material inventory in yard and warehouse locations.
  • Performs inventory counts, including routine cycle counting to ensure inventory accuracy and resolve discrepancies.
  • Records and tracks material quantities, weights, and locations using appropriate documentation or systems.
  • Supplies production areas with raw materials as needed.
  • Completes receiving documentation, including weights, counts, and material identification.
  • Performs pre-operational equipment checks, including battery charging and fuel (LP) tank replacement.
  • Follows all safety procedures while working around moving equipment, elevated loads, and truck traffic.
  • All other duties as assigned.
