This position is responsible for the safe and efficient set up, inspection and operation of equipment/machinery utilized in the processing of meat products. Additionally, responsible for following standard operating procedures, including but not limited to, completing production related paperwork and meeting product specifications.

Requirements

  • Must be able to comprehend and pass the PIT training, must also understand safe driving techniques.
  • Must be able to properly complete paperwork for production and pre-op check lists.
  • Ability to understand and follow both written and verbal instructions and labels.
  • Follow established personal safety guidelines and policies.
  • Follow established food safety guidelines and policies.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. safely without assistance, above 50 lbs. and up to 80 lbs. with assistance
  • Must be able to climb stairs occasionally during the shift
  • Ability to bend, stoop, push, pull, grasp, reach, kneel, twist frequently during the shift
  • Ability to walk frequently within department, and ability to stand during the entire production shift
  • Ability to follow Safety Rules and requirements when working in dangerous areas or with power equipment
  • Ability to learn to accurately read and understand batch cards
  • Ability to use a calculator to perform basic math equations for precision measurements
  • Ability to work from written and/or verbal instructions
  • Ability to work with others and as a team
  • Ability to learn while training with an experienced trainer
  • Must have visual acuity to perceive difference in color, and to operate machinery
  • Ability to work indoors in a mixing production facility and to be exposed to the smell and dust of different raw spices as these are being blended into commercial formulas.

  • Warehouse experience preferred.
