Requirements

  • One to three years of related experience.
  • A bachelor's degree is preferred.
  • Ability to consistently meet/exceed goals standards and demonstrate the WRBC Core Competencies and Innovation Behaviors.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Strong competence and comfort utilizing software applications, various operating systems, phone systems, electronic communications, and other software and hardware as necessary.
  • Ability to sit at a desk and work on a computer for extended periods of time.
  • May occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
  • Vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus.

Responsibilities

  • Support company and commercial lines growth, profitability, and service goals through the accurate and efficient handling of policy rating, preparation, issuance, as well as associated data entry and processing functions.
  • Adhere to written authority level and refer items that exceed authority.
  • Rate and issue using both manual and automated methods for all commercial lines of business for multiple states.
  • Work effectively with the necessary parties and follow the appropriate workflow and procedures to ensure results meet service level standards.
  • Maintain strong working relationships with colleagues and management staff.
  • Process all transaction types including but not limited to endorsements, new business, renewals, cancellations, reinstatements, etc.
  • Effectively communicate with agents, underwriting and other individuals to secure the necessary information to accurately complete transactions.
  • Maintain a strong working knowledge of all software applications that support the rating role and responsibility.
  • Interpret instructions from underwriting and other parties to accurately handle all transactions.
  • Provide high level of customer service and achieve or exceed departmental service level standards.
  • Adhere to the procedures, entry guides, Rating Rights, rater work assignments and other materials that are provided to accurately classify, rate and process transactions.
  • Actively participate in team discussions, problem solving and developing best practices.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of processes and procedures.
