About The Position

CME Group is currently looking for a summer intern to join the Rates and OTC Business Line Management (BLM) team in Chicago. This summer internship experience provides an exciting opportunity to gain experience in the financial services industry and discover how institutions around the globe access the world's leading derivatives marketplace for all of their interest rate risk management needs. This position will assist the Rates & OTC BLM on day-to-day activities, primarily in the support of CME Group's interest rate futures and options markets. The role will include data analysis, report generation, assisting with client inquiries, and additional ad-hoc projects in support of strategic business growth. You will work within a team of experienced financial markets professionals with diverse and global backgrounds across financial services. This is an excellent opportunity for anyone interested in pursuing a career in financial markets or the financial industry more broadly. This is a paid full-time summer internship of 10-12 weeks. The position will be primarily in-office in Chicago, with the ability to work from home one day per week.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, or another field with a demonstrated interest or passion for financial markets
  • Strong communication and prioritization skills
  • Ability to work in Chicago, in-office four days per week (office address is 20 S Wacker Dr, Chicago IL 60606)
  • Microsoft Suite - Excel & PowerPoint
  • Google Workspace - Gmail, Docs, Sheets, Slides

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Rates and OTC BLM team on long-term objectives and day-to-day tasks
  • Conduct product analysis, including the generation of reports that are regularly referenced by the BLM team and CME management
  • Work cross-functionally to collaborate with other teams within CME Group, including with CME Clearing
  • Track inbound client inquiries where necessary to assist with ongoing initiatives
