About The Position

Shady Grove Medical Center seeks to hire an experienced Rapid Response Registered Nurse (RN) for our Intensive Care Unit who will embrace our mission to extend God’s care through the ministry of physical, mental and spiritual healing. As a Rapid Response Registered Nurse you will: Provide critical care support to the nursing staff in all areas of the hospital. Respond to Rapid Response Team calls. Activate Code STEMI, Sepsis, Stroke, if appropriate. Promote cohesive work teams and constructive conflict resolution, actively supporting intra and interdisciplinary teamwork. Ensure a culture of safety. Ensure adherence to clear expectations based on standards of care defined by professional and regulatory organizations. Required to work at bedside in critical care to maintain sufficient critical care competencies. Identify gaps in care delivery model and recommend potential solutions. Collect and analyze data of rapid responses. Proactively conduct rounds on nursing units to identify, assess, intervene and document “at risk” patients. Leadership- Demonstrate effective communication, conflict resolution, team building and leadership skills. Participates in updating and upholding standards of practice. Share responsibility for the outcomes of quality improvement initiatives. Contribute to improvement efforts and champions change by identifying obstacles and requesting resources for effective improvement programs. Contribute to department and organizational education programs, meetings, committees and professional initiatives. Promote, facilitate and reinforces Evidence-Based Practice for team members on new practice changes, regulatory requirements and organizational practice changes.

Requirements

  • Minimum: Three years acute care nursing experience. Critical Care or Emergency Department experience in health care including involvement in direct patient care, educating staff and system-level problem solving.
  • Licensed Registered Professional Nurse
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • National clinical certification in assigned area of practice within 6 months of employment (CCRN or CEN)
  • ACLS or other technical certifications as per area assigned.

  • Baccalaureate degree in nursing preferred
  • Preferred: Demonstrated ability to work productively and effectively within a complex environment, Ability to handle multiple/changing priorities and deal with stresses associated with a patient care environment such as emergencies, time pressures, varying patient emotions/attitudes/conditions, etc.
