About The Position

A Sense & Warn (S&W) Rapid Deployment Radar Operator specializes in the operation, maintenance, and interpretation of advanced radar systems to detect, track, and classify rockets, artillery, mortars (RAM), and unmanned aerial systems (UAS). This role provides essential real-time intelligence to support force protection and mission-critical decision-making in high-threat environments.

Requirements

  • Technical Proficiency: Demonstrated expertise in radar principles, spatial surveillance, and electronic system maintenance, with a focus on RAM and UAS detection technologies.
  • Analytical and Situational Awareness: Proven ability to assess multiple, fast-moving targets, identify genuine threats, and make sound decisions under pressure.
  • Attention to Detail: High level of precision in monitoring radar data and interpreting complex signals.
  • Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication abilities for clear, concise reporting to command and operational teams.
  • Experience: 2–4 years of relevant experience in radar operations, preferably in military or security environments.
  • Education and Training: High school diploma or GED required; specialized training or certification in radar operation preferred.
  • Advanced roles may require additional education.
  • Deployment Readiness: Willingness and ability to deploy to austere and potentially hostile environments for extended periods.
  • US Citizenship Required: Yes
  • Clearance Level Must Currently Possess: Secret
  • Clearance Level Must Be Able to Obtain: Top Secret

Responsibilities

  • Monitoring and Detection: Continuously monitor radar displays to identify and track RAM and UAS threats, ensuring early warning and situational awareness for deployed units.
  • Data Analysis: Analyze radar returns to differentiate between hostile projectiles, drones, and non-threats, delivering accurate, actionable information to command elements.
  • System Operation and Maintenance: Operate and maintain sophisticated radar equipment, troubleshoot technical issues, and perform routine preventive maintenance to ensure peak system performance in challenging field conditions.
  • Communication: Relay critical threat data and system status updates to command centers and response teams using secure communication protocols, enabling rapid and informed tactical responses.
  • Safety and Compliance: Adhere to strict operational procedures to safeguard personnel, maintain system integrity, and ensure compliance with all safety and security standards.
